  • Chairman Andy Olie
    Andy Olie

    Andy was Managing Director of Wyvern Waste Services Limited up until 2006 and has considerable experience in the waste sector, in operations, management as well as in business development and planning. Today, Andy runs Monksleigh Group providing business advice to small waste management companies. Projects include strategy and market review for alternative energy from waste company, strategy review for secondary aggregate company, and small waste and recycling business advice.

    His skills and experience complement Aardvark's professional team and as well as his role as a NED we anticipate that we will be working together on a number of waste orientated projects on behalf of clients.

  • Managing Director Mark Clayton
    Mark Clayton

    Mark, is a graduate of Imperial College, Wye Faculty and has a degree in Environmental Science. He established the company in 1997 to provide environmental innovation to all forms of industry, agriculture and marine based projects. Within the first 2 years Aardvark won a DTI Smart Innovation Award for its work in developing low cost oil clean up systems.

    Mark has worked both in the UK and overseas and has extensive experience in wastes, renewable energy and water. He is qualified as a BREEAM for Offices Assessor.

  • Director Nick Leaney
    Nick Leaney

    Nick is a qualified Chartered Surveyor with over 15 years of experience in the commercial property sector. He was previously with Strutt and Parker where he was a Partner in their commercial division based at Head Office. His areas of expertise lie in commercial & residential property advising landlords, developers and tenants on their occupational property and investment strategies.

    Nick heads up the company's sustainable development and renewable energy team providing expert advice for the property sector and is a qualified BREEAM for Offices Assessor.

    Part of Nick's role is to build on the important pivotal link between the property industry and the core environmental skills that Aardvark can deliver.

  • Associate Director Alan Taylor
    Alan Taylor

    Alan is a Chartered Engineer with particular experience in the instigation, development and management of applied research and the demonstration of projects and programmes across technologies boundaries. He has worked with Aardvark since 2015 and has specific technical experience in the assessment and selection of technologies and as a project developer for bioenergy projects in the electricity generation and municipal services context. This experience has included the management of diverse projects and programmes, many of which have been delivered as collaborations or partnerships, where the successful understanding of the relationships between participants and external stakeholders can be vital in securing success. He is also experienced in the scoping and procurement of specific packages of research needed to support complex and novel consent applications in both the terrestrial and marine context.

  • Senior Consultant Joanna Clayton
    Joanna Clayton

    Jo has a degree from Imperial College London in Environmental Science and specialises in linking natural capital with investment objectives, this ranges from habitat valuation through to the evaluation of local waste resources for onsite energy generation.

    Jo is an Affiliate Member of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment.

  • Principal Consultant Sara Ferretti
    Sara Ferretti

    Sara is a post graduate of International Relations with a specialisation in global carbon policies and negotiations, from the University of the Sacred Heart of Milan, Italy. She has previously worked as a researcher for an environmental NGO in Sydney, Australia, and as the Secretary General of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Latin America.

    Sara heads up Aardvark's London office and manages both the Carbon and Energy team on the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme, Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme and on voluntary GHG emissions calculation. Sara also works with the Planning and Development team on Applications for the FiTs/ROCs/RHI, compliance with the WAMITAB Certification and with Ofgem sustainability criteria. 

  • Senior Consultant Jon Pettitt
    Jon Pettitt

    Jon is a post graduate of Sustainable Environment Management, and a graduate in Geography from the University of Plymouth. He has previously worked at the Environment Agency, and has experience working in the voluntary sector for BTCV and for the Icelandic Environment Agency.

    Jon heads the Environment Management sector for Aardvarks clients.

  • Senior Consultant Jack Spurway
    Jack Spurway

    Jack has a degree in Environmental Science from the University of Plymouth. He previously worked in the renewable energy sector, project managing small and medium scale wind turbine installations.

    He works predominantly on renewables and waste management projects, bit is also involved in the carbon and energy side of the business, advising clients on CRC and ESOS compliance.

  • Senior Consultant Nicholas Johnn
    Nicholas Johnn

    Nick holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Consultancy and a BSc in Life Sciences.
    He has previously worked within commercial roles at Mars Chocolate UK, CHEP UK and Citigroup.
    Nick works primarily within the Carbon & Energy and Environmental Management teams carrying out due diligence audits, permitting and environmental management systems work. He also supports the planning and development team advising on renewables and waste management. Nick is a Full Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and a Chartered Environmentalist.

  • Consultant Kirsty Lodge
    Kirsty Lodge

    Kirsty holds an Environmental Science degree with a specialisation in Marine Conservation from the University of Plymouth. Previous roles have included a management role for Seasalt Ltd in the retail sector, focusing on both commercial awareness and forward business planning.

    Kirsty works primarily within the Planning & Development Team advising on renewables and waste management whilst providing support for the Environmental Management side of the business.

  • Consultant Alice Bayfield
    Alice Bayfield

    Alice is a graduate of Geography with Environmental Management from the University of Exeter, working with the Carbon and Energy team on feasibility studies and anaerobic digestion projects as well as advising clients on CRC and ESOS compliance. She also supports the Environmental Management team, working on waste management and permitting projects. 

  • Graduate Consultant Ross Malton
    Ross Malton

    Ross holds a Geography degree from Bath Spa University. Previously he has worked with the Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office in Bangkok to develop sustainable tourism in the region. Within the office he works on a variety of projects from renewables, environmental and waste management to planning and development.

  • Office Manager Nicole Orme
    Nicole Orme

    Nicole is responsible for the day to day running of Aardvark HQ and was previously Office Manager at Western Fabrications Ltd.

  • Marketing / Administration Marianne Tomassi

    Marianne has extensive project administration experience from over 10 years work in the private sector with Strutt & Parker and Quintain Estates & Development Plc in London.
