Aardvark project
Farm Based Anaerobic Digestion Project – Independent Assessment of the Technology and Business Plan
| Location: Uffculme | Client: Mountstephens Farm |
| Date: 2011/2012 | Sector: Carbon and Energy |
Project Summary
Small scale anaerobic digestion project, 83kWe. Our initial instruction was to undertake an independent review for due diligence on the technology and financials so that funding could be agreed and the project proceed.
Subsequent to that instruction our roll has been to undertake the following:
- Project Management of the build and installation; specifically making sure the AD unit can operate as designed and that no gaps appear between warranties and/or phases of technology and service
- Grid Connection; to confirm and agree export requirements, timings and contestable and non-contestable work elements
- Power Purchase Agreement and FIT/OFGEM accreditation with one of the networks suppliers; this would normally be with the existing farm supplier – they are obligated to purchase the power
- Permitting; the site will need to conform to the Environmental Permitting Regulations for the AD process, digestate storage and subsequent spreading. This may be in the form of an exemption or permit.
