Aardvark wins NVZ designation appeal

Aardvark's appeal to DEFRA that groundwater under a farm near Harpenden should not have been identified by the Environment Agency as being polluted and so designated as a Nitrate Vulnerable Zone has been successful.

The independent NVZ Appeals panel has instructed the Secretary of State to re-assess the Hatfield groundwater NVZ, redefine the NVZ boundary and immediately notify the occupiers of the farm holdings.
