Flood Risk Assessment
Aardvark has recently completed two flood risk assessments for two very different developments.
The first site in Somerset involved the construction of two new all weather sports pitches for a private school, which was located within flood zone 2 and required a flood compatible construction and surface water disposal strategy.
The second site served up a different challenge involving the re-development of an existing house in Berkshire located on the banks of the River Thames where the positioning of electrical services, finished floor levels and management of surface water were the key issues.
Both sites required detailed negotiation with the Environment Agency to establish the principle of development, a situation which the FRA team at Aardvark are finding increasingly common as part of the planning application process.
