Aardvark News
Logo Competition
Aardvark EM Ltd have been working with Exmoor National Park Authority with support from the Sustainable Development Fund to set up a project to harvest and compost the bracken on Exmoor, to be sold locally.
Bracken is now a recognised problem and several management techniques have been and are currently deployed to control its growth and spread included cutting, bruising, burning, chemically spray or a combination each with their own benefits, faults and costs.
The choice of technique depends greatly on factors like terrain, ecology, machinery, manpower and available funds. This project will develop a harvesting and composting operation and set up a market for the valuable end product.
We want to get everyone involved as much as possible and are therefore holding a competition for local school children to design a logo for the bracken compost.
